Backstage Update On Nick Aldis’ Role With WWE
A new report has given more details on Nick Aldis‘ role within WWE.
On the October 13th episode of SmackDown, Triple H appeared on-screen determined to shake things up. The Game addressed Adam Pearce in the ring and praised him for his work as the authority across Raw and SmackDown in recent years, as well as recognising his in-ring career.
However, he added that no one should be expected to keep order across the entire schedule of WWE programming. As a result, Triple H moved Pearce to Raw, making him the General Manager before introducing Nick Aldis as the new GM of the blue brand. The appearance was Aldis’ first on WWE television.
Nick Aldis — a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion — later described the role as the “opportunity of a lifetime.”
The appearance came as a surprise to many as Aldis has been working backstage as a producer in recent months. This has led to questions over the British star’s future with some wondering whether the new role will see him return to the ring and move on from his work as a producer.
With regard to these questions, a new report from Fightful Select noted that “by the looks of it” Aldis will continue to work as a producer while holding down his new on-screen position.
When Did Nick Aldis Join WWE?
Nick Aldis began working for WWE in August when given a try-out as a producer. The star was coming off the back of a short run with IMPACT Wrestling, which ended earlier that month, with his last match airing on July 27th.
Despite taking the position with WWE, Aldis has continued to wrestle on the independent scene. There has been no word on whether this will continue now he’s featuring on-screen.
