Update On Austin Theory Missing WWE Live Event In Toronto, US Title Defense On Raw
Austin Theory missed a WWE live event for unknown reasons, but he’s expected to put his championship on the line coming up on Raw.
During the WWE Holiday Tour live events including December 27th in Atlanta, Austin Theory defended the US Title against Seth “Freakin” Rollins in the main event. However, Theory missed one of the shows on the tour for unknown reasons.
The December 30th WWE live event in Toronto was supposed to be headlined by Theory defending the US Title against Rollins. However, the fans in attendance got a different match because Rollins beat Finn Balor in the Steel Cage Match main event.
Austin Theory’s absence in Toronto was addressed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
“Theory on Friday was not in Toronto, but I was told it’s not an injury or anything like that. He was supposed to be in the main event with Seth. I don’t know if it was an issue going across the border. The building put it out, which is really weird because WWE usually puts it out.”
“I was told that Theory is going to be, at least a few hours ago, would be wrestling Seth Rollins, and there’s no problem or no injury or anything like that. I don’t know what it was.”
It’s worth noting that the last time WWE was in Toronto was the August 22nd edition of Raw and Theory was in attendance at that show.
Tonight’s Raw takes place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee with Austin Theory set to defend the US Title against the former champion, Seth “Freakin” Rollins.
On Twitter, Austin Theory issued some trash talk toward Rollins to hype up the match on Raw tonight.
@WWERollins you will truly know your place in the @WWE after tomorrow night when I put you in the past. It’s NOW time for you to go A-Town Down!!!#wwerawpic.twitter.com/5Mu5j74CRW
