Arn Anderson Breaks Silence On Sycho Sid’s Passing

Arn Anderson Sid Vicious Four Horsemen

Arn Anderson has remarked on the death of a fellow legendary wrestler, “Sycho” Sid Vicious.

The death of former WWE & WCW World Champion Sid Eudy was announced this past Monday. Sid was 63 years old and died of cancer.

There was a touching tribute for Sid that aired on WWE Monday Night Raw this week and many people within the wrestling industry have paid tribute to the powerful big man who gave us so many memorable moments.

WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson is somebody who knew Sid very well since they wrestled in the same era and the same companies for many years. They were also part of the legendary Four Horsemen group together although Sid’s run with the group didn’t last that long.

Arn Anderson and Sid also had a famous dispute in October 1993 involving scissors that led to Sid getting fired by World Championship Wrestling. Anderson was stabbed with the scissors repeatedly while fellow wrestler 2 Cold Scorpio was credited for saving Arn’s life by putting a stop to the incident.

Despite the incident, Anderson and Sid worked together again many years later when Sid returned to WCW after another run in WWE.

While speaking on the latest ARN podcast on AdFreeShows.com, Anderson expressed his sadness when remembering Sid’s impact on pro wrestling.

“Well, it was a shock, as it always is. Obviously, the wrestling world lost a giant. He was definitely a monster. He left a mark on this business that people will remember for decades to come. He had the best look. I would go this far as to say that he probably had the best look of anybody in the history of the business. Just seeing him walking in the room, he’s just a monster.”

“Our thoughts and prayers for his family certainly go out and very, very sad to hear what a huge loss we woke up with yesterday morning. It’s never a shock, but it is a shock. In our business, we beat our bodies up. Our bodies are actually in dog years aged a lot.”

“I had no previous knowledge of any illness or anything with Sid, so it was a shock. Like I said, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, to his fans, equally as much, and let’s just give them some thoughts and prayers that they’re going to be needing going forward.”

Arn Anderson Doesn’t Rule Out WWE Return

After WWE bought WCW in 2001, Arn Anderson signed with WWE and was a longtime producer in WWE. When AEW launched in 2019, Anderson signed with them. However, Anderson’s AEW run ended and he was shown backstage at SummerSlam 2024 advising Cody Rhodes.

The 65-year-old Anderson, who has been a part of pro wrestling for over 40 years, hasn’t ruled a WWE return as he said on his podcast recently:

“How much is it going to be for? Never say never. Get some substantial zeroes on my sh*t and we’ll talk.”
