Why Ari Emanuel Might Be Secretly Plotting With Vince McMahon
The reports of Vince McMahon’s ambitions to reclaim WWE refuse to die.
The former chairman resigned from all positions within TKO in January 2024 after allegations of sexual assault and trafficking surfaced against him.
McMahon has always been known as a shrewd businessman, with storied aspirations to claim global dominance through wrestling.
In 2018, he changed the landscape of the Stamford-based company when he signed a multi-year contract with Saudi Arabia to host shows.
When opportunity presented itself, McMahon ended his family’s 70-year control over WWE by selling the product to Endeavor.
While his initial thought process behind selecting Endeavor was familiarity with its CEO, Ari Emanuel, and strategic alignment, McMahon ultimately lost his grip due to misconduct allegations and a subsequent lawsuit.
Vince McMahon And Ari Emanuel May Be In Cahoots To Reclaim WWE
Former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman again reignited the topic of Vince McMahon’s intent to buy back WWE.
Appearing on the Coach and Bro podcast with former employee Tommy Carlucci, he explained Vince Russo’s theory that indicated McMahon’s knowledge of the possible controversy.
As a result, he aligned himself with Ari Emanuel to seek the help of the Saudis to reclaim his lost baby.
A shocked Carlucci then said the following:
Wow, that is incredible, and you know what…I think Vince (McMahon) was smart enough to do that, to go to Ari. I’m serious, cos that’s a great freaking idea because look what it does: it makes Vince a billionaire for the rest of his life, it sets Ari free from debt in about couple of years, the Saudis love Vince; let’s face it.
So, it’s a no-brainer, Coach. That is an incredible thought and idea, but think about it and think about who we know who perpetrated that whole thing. It could definitely happen, and Ari is more of a shark than Vince ever would be. [34:40 onwards]
Despite no longer holding a position in WWE, Vince McMahon still holds the third-most stock in TKO.
