Another NXT Star Moving To WWE Main Roster
A former NXT North American Champion is moving to the main roster.
In the span of four days, NXT has been thrown into chaos.
At Battleground, Trick Williams beat Joe Hendry to claim the TNA World Championship, meaning TNA’s top prize is now held by a WWE contracted wrestler. Just days later, on May 27, Stephanie Vaquer shockingly lost the Women’s Championship to Jacy Jayne, and Ricky Saints lost the North American Title to Ethan Page.
In the days after she lost the NXT Women’s Title, it was reported that Stephanie Vaquer will be heading to Monday Night Raw, while Jordynne Grace will begin her main roster career on SmackDown.
The news comes after Roxanne Perez and Giulia were called up to Raw and SmackDown, respectively.
Former AEW Star Called Up To WWE’s Main Roster
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer backed up the report concerning Grace and Vaquer, while reporting that Ricky Saints will also leave NXT behind. However, there’s no word on which brand he’ll be joining.
The reason was that both, along with Jordynne Grace are all expected on the main roster imminently. There are reports of Vaquer to Raw and Grace to Smackdown. When asking, we were told that it appeared that way right now. We didn’t get a read on where Saints would be going.
During an interview in March, Stephanie Vaquer revealed she had asked to join NXT, despite being offered a spot on the main roster upon joining the company. Vaquer felt the developmental brand would be a better place for her to learn English and the WWE style of wrestling.
