AEW is set to sign another free agent.

After losing an “I Quit” Match to Mike Santana at Genesis, Josh Alexander announced he was quitting TNA. This set up a storyline where Alexander was eventually written off television via a loss to Eric Young on the February 23 edition of Impact.

During this period, it was confirmed that Alexander was planning to let his contract expire before exploring his options in free agency. However, it seems that the former World Champion hasn’t taken long to decide on his next move.

Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Alexander has decided to join AEW, and the company is ready for him to arrive.

Josh Alexander has not been announced but multiple sources list him as coming and it was confirmed to us that he had made his decision as to which side (WWE or AEW) he was going to based on what he perceived was the right thing for his family, IE, the best offer.

Josh Alexander To Join Mike Bailey In AEW

The news on Alexander comes after it was confirmed that AEW has officially signed highly rated free agent “Speedball” Mike Bailey. It’s believed Bailey has signed a “multi-year” deal with the company, although the finer details haven’t been made public.

Confirmation of Bailey’s arrival finally came during the February 22 edition of Collision when a vignette aired featuring the star in action.

Bailey became a free agent at the end of 2024 after finishing up with TNA in October.

Alexander and Bailey have wrestled several times in the past and even clashed over the TNA World Championship in late 2022.
