Al Snow Explains Why WWE-UFC Deal Shows “The Genius Of Vince McMahon”
Al Snow opened up about Vince McMahon, explaining why “you’ve got to respect the man” for his “brilliant” orchestrations.
As of September 12th, WWE has officially merged with UFC under parent company Endeavor to form TKO Group Holdings. Talk of a sale had been in the works since Vince McMahon announced his return to the WWE Board of Directors back in January. McMahon remains Executive Chairman of the Board for TKO Group, while former CEO Nick Khan now serves as WWE President.
Speaking in a new interview with WrestlingInc, former WWE star and current star of Netflix’s Wrestlers spoke about McMahon’s latest moves, admitting that while he’s surprised McMahon sold his family empire, it speaks to his “genius” business sense.
“I thought I would never live to see the day that Vince McMahon would sell the company. I think that it speaks to the genius that is Vince McMahon. I know that a lot of people don’t want to hear that, but you’ve got to respect the man.”
“Brilliant. Just Brilliant.” – Al Snow On Vince McMahon
Continuing, Snow made mention of McMahon’s return to the company after announcing his retirement in July of 2022 amidst an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct and hush money payments. According to Snow, McMahon’s ability to rise above his critics and ensure he can’t be fired is “brilliant.”
“He took leave, left the company, came back, put himself in a position where he could sell the company, was able to sell it for about $4 billion higher than the valuation that was given for the company, and then got himself a contract to where he could never be fired. Brilliant. Just brilliant. On top of growing that mustache. So you got to admire it.”
