AJ Styles’ Post-WWE Retirement Future Predicted
AJ Styles has confirmed that he will retire from wrestling in 2026.
Styles made his first appearance in WWE during the 2016 Royal Rumble match by walking out at #3.
Since then, he has been at the forefront of several major storylines, even capturing two singles World Championships.
He is also a former multi-time United States Champion and a one-time Intercontinental Champion. Styles currently serves as one-half of the World Tag Team Champions alongside Dragon Lee.
After confirming his retirement at the Crown Jewel pre-show, AJ Styles wrestled John Cena in an iconic bout that was highly ranked by critics and fans.
He was recently asked whether he would like a Cena-like retirement run, to which he replied that he would prefer a quiet retirement instead.
Whether or not WWE plans a similar chart for Styles’ retirement remains to be seen. Meanwhile, his former stablemate has predicted that the 48-year-old will struggle to keep away from wrestling.
AJ Styles To Remain In The Business After Wrestling?
During an interview with Wrestlezone, Doc Gallows (fka Luke Gallows) discussed AJ Styles’ upcoming retirement.
Gallows recalled Styles faking a retirement in 2024, but said that he believed that The Phenomenal One would step away for real this time. In doing so, he credited his former teammate for honoring his commitment to his family.
Although he said that Styles might find it difficult to adjust to retirement, and instead land another role in the business.
I’m not saying that he’s going to jump back in and start doing big marquee matches again, but I feel like AJ will stay around the business in some way. Not because he needs to, but probably because he’ll end up wanting to. [H/T: Wrestlezone]
