AJ Lee’s Return Panned By WWE Hall Of Famer

AJ Lee WWE

AJ Lee has delighted WWE fans since her return, but one Hall of Famer is far from impressed.

AJ Lee recently made her return to WWE after over ten years away to help her husband, CM Punk, in his feud with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. Becky Lynch screwed Punk out of winning the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash in Paris and mocked Punk for not wanting to put his hands on her.

That led to AJ Lee making her comeback, and she teamed with Punk to defeat Lynch and Rollins at Wrestlepalooza.

But not everyone is thrilled with how AJ Lee has been presented since her return.

Kevin Nash Not Happy With WWE’s Use Of AJ Lee

Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash explained why he thinks WWE needed to reintroduce AJ Lee in a very different and more sudden way:

If you go back in time – the NWO takes off, Hogan drops the leg, and then the next time you see Hulk, he’s still in the yellow and red. Does it work as well as the Hollywood, or do you go with the complete change because now you’ve got some f**king intrigue?

I’m only going by s**t that works. When she came down to the ring, that was the lowest-rated Netflix Raw that they’d had since they’d been on Netflix.

The reason she’s coming down is not to make a phoney s**t wrestling angle – the reason she’s come down is because another woman is putting her hands on her husband, and he can’t do anything about it.

If she had just stormed down, and not even said a word, just went right to her and pummelled the s**t out of her. Then if she wants to come out the next week and f**king skip, she can do what she wants.

The first time you see her though, it’s like, she just showed up because, ‘You know what man, I’m gonna go to the arena with you next week,’ ‘Nah babe…’ ‘No f**k that, I’m going.’ And then the s**t goes down and she inserts herself.

Nash also pointed out that Lee’s old character, which she’s revived, has similarities to the current character Bayley is portraying:

So then you have her still kind of playing the ‘I’m semi crazy’ character, and you have Bayley kind of playing the semi crazy character also. So now we have two mentally unstable women on the same show. That’s good? There’s no mentally unstable men on the show.
