AJ Lee Shuts Down Recent Rumor Amid WWE Absence

AJ Lee WWE

AJ Lee is currently absent from WWE programming.

The Geek Goddess returned to WWE after almost a decade of hiatus. She made her shocking comeback on the September 5, 2025, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where she joined forces with her husband against former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and his wife, the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch.

Both couples had a face-off at Wrestlepalooza in a mixed tag-team match, and Punk and Lee won. When AJ Lee returned to WWE, she signed a multi-year deal, hinting that she’s not just back for a one-off appearance. After Wrestlepalooza, the WWE Universe expected her to go after Lynch and her title, but she hasn’t appeared on TV since the PLE.

Moreover, Lee was advertised on the November 17 Monday Night Raw banner on Netflix. So, people were excited that they might get to see her on the show. But unfortunately, it looks like that won’t happen because WWE and Netflix silently changed the banner and replaced her with John Cena for the show.

AJ Lee Shuts Down WWE Absence Rumors

Amidst her hiatus, a fake AJ Lee Facebook account shared a post claiming that her absence is related to a book tour. The former WWE Divas Champion logged in her verified X account on Monday, where she confirmed she does not have a Facebook account and she’s only active on X and Instagram.

Lee wrote, “Hi bebes, I don’t have facebook or any other socials besides this X and a verified Instagram: instagram.com/theajmendez”

While Lee is away, her husband Punk is focused on his upcoming bout at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, where he’ll face Jey Uso for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship that Seth Rollins had to relinquish due to an injury.

Ahead of their much-anticipated clash on Saturday, the two top contenders for the WWE gold had a face-to-face, heated segment on this week’s Monday Night Raw, where they threw insults at each other.
