AEW’s Tony Khan Reveals Who Snapped Photo Of Shane McMahon Meeting
Tony Khan has revealed exactly who snapped the now-famous photo of his meeting with former WWE star Shane McMahon.
On July 31st a simple photo set the wrestling world on fire. Granted, the photograph in question laid bare a secret meeting between Shane McMahon and Tony Khan, but even so, the reaction was extreme.
Prior to the meeting, Tony Khan had distanced himself from suggestions about Shane McMahon appearing in AEW but the door remains open for the man who once called the WWE his family business.
For his part, McMahon claimed the pair discussed their “shared love of the business” after being introduced through a mutual friend. The star isn’t expected to return to WWE and hasn’t been featured in the company since suffering a quadriceps injury while making a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 39.
Tony Khan Lifts Lid On Shane McMahon Photo
Speaking on The Dan Le Batard Show, Tony Khan discussed his meeting with McMahon and revealed who was behind the camera when a photo of the pair seemingly caught off-guard was snapped:
I think somebody who works at the airport. We were just talking in the airport lounge, having a real nice chat as the photo evidenced, and somebody just walked in like they were on their phone, ‘Oops, sorry,’ and then walked away. I think that’s probably what it was. It wasn’t that slick.
Also, it’s not a top secret thing. I wanted to have a nice conversation with him. I’ve heard a lot of nice things about him. We have a bunch of mutual friends. We were both in Dallas, they said, ‘You guys should meet up,’ so we met up at the airport and it was a nice talk. I thought he’s a very respectful and respectable person, and somebody I really enjoyed talking to.
However, one report has suggested there was more to Tony Khan and Shane McMahon both making sure that a photo of their meeting was taken and made very public.
