AEW’s Kenny Omega Could Avoid Surgery

Kenny Omega AEW

Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega could still avoid surgery despite suffering from a serious illness that has taken him out of action.

On December 15th, Kenny Omega announced that he would be out of the ring indefinitely after being admitted to hospital. It was later revealed that the star had been diagnosed with diverticulitis.

The illness was said to be almost catastrophic for Kenny Omega but thankfully The Best Bout Machine received treatment before his condition worsened. Omega’s illness caused plans for a major match at Worlds End to be scrapped as he was originally set to team with Chris Jericho to challenge Ricky Starks and Big Bill for the AEW Tag Team Championship.

In its place, Omega’s partner Chris Jericho teamed with Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and Sting to defeat The Don Callis Family.

Kenny Omega Situation Looking More Positive

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that Kenny Omega could still avoid surgery for his condition and that things are looking a lot better for the star:

I was told that one of the things with Kenny’s deal was that they had to pump him full of antibiotics. Apparently, the antibiotics are working. So he may still need surgery but the last report that I got, which was 20 minutes ago, was that things were looking up and that he was doing a lot better and hopefully going to make a full recovery.

It still remains to be seen how long Kenny Omega will remain out of action but the belief is any recovery will be a lot longer should the star have to go under the knife.
