AEW World Title Eliminator Semi-Finals Confirmed

MJF AEW World Champion

MJF now knows his next challenger for the AEW World Title will be one of four men.

On the 6th of September edition of Dynamite, the AEW World Title Grand Slam Eliminator tournament kicked off with 8 AEW stars in the frame to challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship at Grand Slam.

That show saw Darby Allin defeat his protege Nick Wayne to advance to the semi-finals with Roderick Strong doing the same against Trent Beretta despite Strong’s ever-failing neck health.

On Rampage, the next two quarter-finals took place with Penta El Zero Miedo taking on Jay Lethal and ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe facing Jeff Hardy. In the opening bout of the night Penta El Zero Miedo picked up the win with Samoa Joe doing the same in the night’s main event.

Who could face MJF at AEW Grand Slam?

That means the semi-finals for the tournament will see Darby Allin take on Roderick Strong while Samoa Joe will face Penta El Zero Miedo with both those matches set to take place on Collision. The final will then take place on the 13th of September edition of Dynamite. One week later the winner will challenge MJF for the title in New York City.

Samoa Joe and Roderick Strong are currently involved in stories with MJF as the AEW World Champion confronted Joe on Dynamite after their altercation at All Out while Strong remains a thorn in the side of MJF’s friendship with Better Than You Bay-Bay tag team partner Adam Cole.
