AEW Under Fire From Star After Collision Walkout

AEW Tony Khan

One wrestling star has seemingly fired back at AEW after a recent walkout caused a massive controversy in the company.

A tag team match planned for AEW Collision had to be scrapped when former WWE star Nixon Newell and her partner Miranda Aliza took issue with plans for it.

Newell and Alize, in what would have been only their second match in AEW, decided they did not want to face established tag team Anna Jay and Tay Melo on the show because the match was only scheduled to last for three minutes. This came off the back of apparent issues in their first match in the company, where they lost in short order to Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir.

Newell and Alize gave their side of the story, with the former Tegan Nox noting that there was no bad blood between them and the company. AEW simply let them go home if they did not want to participate in the match. The claims of no animosity have been disputed, with many in the company said to be more confused than angry at the pair.

Miranda Alize Fires Back After AEW Walkout

It’s been said that it’s better to remain quiet and attract accusations of stupidity rather than speak and remove all doubt, but nevertheless, Miranda Alize has now taken to social media to share her most comprehensive take on the situation to date:

The moment you start standing up for yourself, everything shifts. Suddenly you’re the problem – not because you’ve changed, but because you’re no longer letting them take advantage of you. They’ll paint you as the villain, but that’s okay because you’re finally choosing yourself. This is where your freedom begins.

Alize and Newell are not signed by AEW and are unlikely to find work for the company or Tony Khan’s ROH either, thanks to the situation. Nixon Newell has noted that this is her final year in wrestling, so having fun is her priority.
