AEW Tag Team Comes To Abrupt End

A former AEW championship team has ended without any storyline explanation about why it’s over.

The team of Ricky Starks & Big Bill was a pairing of two singles wrestlers in All Elite Wrestling who didn’t have any direction as singles acts.

On the October 7, 2023 edition of AEW Collision, Starks & Bill became Tag Team Champions when they defeated the legendary FTR team of Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler. The match had a shocking result because Starks & Bill won within a few minutes and it was booked almost like a squash match that put over the new champions in a big way.

Starks & Bill held the AEW Tag Team Titles for about four months at 123 days when they lost them to Sting & Darby Allin on the February 7th edition of Dynamite.

Following their title loss, there was no follow up for the Ricky Starks & Big Bill team. Since then, Starks has disappeared from television while Big Bill is part of “The Learning Tree” angle with Chris Jericho. The team of Bill & Jericho picked up an easy win on AEW Dynamite in Edmonton this week.

Regarding the Starks & Bill team, Fightful Select reports that there are no creative plans to continue the team while claiming that both wrestlers were ready to move on to different things. There wasn’t any ill will between the wrestlers and both wrestlers likely believed the team had gone as far as it was going to go.

AEW’s Ricky Starks Puts An End To Injury Speculation

There were recently some reports about Ricky Starks being out of action due to an injury, but the charismatic former FTW Champion denies having an injury. Starks said that he recently took part in his annual physical and he’s not hurt. Starks has only wrestled in five All Elite Wrestling matches this year.
