AEW Has Surprising Plans For Tag Team Championship
A new report has indicated that AEW has plans for life after The Gunns for the Tag Team Championship with FTR seemingly in line for what might be considered a surprise return to the company.
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler had a banner 2022, holding at one time the AAA, ROH, and IWGP Tag Team Championships and having a critically acclaimed trilogy of matches with The Briscoes. By the time the year was over, however, all the gold had deserted FTR and in their final AEW appearance – so far – they lost a grudge match to The Gunns.
The Gunns will put their championship on the line at Revolution in a four-way match that will also feature The Acclaimed, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal, and Orange Cassidy & Danhausen. However, those challengers might be in for a rough night.
WRKD Wrestling has noted that despite the continued absence of FTR from AEW television and the fact the team’s contracts apparently expire at the end of April, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are still slated to be the next AEW Tag Team Champions:
“Despite how things may seem, as of right now, FTR are still the team slated to eventually take the #AEW tag team titles off of the Gunn Club.”

That might not come as good news to Colten and Austin Gunn as they have recently discussed their “shoot” issues backstage with FTR.
