AEW Stars Shown At WWE WrestleMania 40

Young Bucks Cody Rhodes AEW

Cody Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania 40 but on WWE’s showpiece event, several AEW stars were shown as the company told his full tale.

Cody Rhodes ended the historic title reign of Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 as he finally got his hands on the WWE Championship. As well as the gold around his waist, Cody Rhodes revealed he received a heartfelt gift from his bosses in WWE to celebrate his huge achievement.

Reigns’ story has played out over the last decade on WWE television as he rose from The Shield to The Tribal Chief but Rhodes’ path to greatness saw him spend a large chunk of his career outside of the company.

Cody Rhodes’ AEW Past Acknowledged By WWE

Cody Rhodes left WWE in 2016 after growing unhappy with his role before reinventing himself and aligning with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega in Bullet Club. The group known as The Elite’s popularity led to the first All In show being held in 2018 before AEW was formed a few short months later.

Rhodes was an EVP alongside his partners in The Elite in AEW but he caused shockwaves when he announced he was leaving Tony Khan’s company in early 2022 only to return to WWE a matter of weeks later at WrestleMania 38.

Before Cody Rhodes’ match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, a video package played covering Rhodes’ career that included photos that featured The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Chris Jericho.

The timing of The Bucks being shown on WWE programming is notable as AEW has announced that The Young Bucks will present footage of CM Punk’s fight at All In with Jack Perry on Dynamite.
