A prominent AEW star has “no answer” to the question of in-ring return.

Sammy Guevara hasn’t wrestled since teaming with Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita to defeat Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Kota Ibushi at WrestleDream on October 1st.

It was revealed in the days after the match that he had suffered a concussion. The news came as a blow to Guevara as he was forced to miss Dynamite on October 18th in his hometown of Houston, Texas.

While Guevara was said to be recovering well after a setback, it seems he’s no nearer to returning to the ring.

Responding to a fan asking about his status on Instagram, Guevara wrote:

“Man, I wish I had an answer. I’m still not cleared.”

AEW Star Jon Moxley Calls For Increased Safety Measures

The injury to Guevara came just weeks after one of AEW’s biggest stars suffered a concussion in controversial circumstances. During a match at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, Jon Moxley was knocked out during his match with Rey Fenix. Moxley eventually changed the finish of the match so he would drop the International Title.

However, this wasn’t before he wrestled for an extended period despite being in no condition to do so.

Jon Moxley later called for wrestlers to be given greater protection, with independent doctors used at ringside.

In 2022, both Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson missed significant time with concussions, with the former fearing his career was over.
