AEW Star Returns After 6 Months Out

Timeless Toni Storm faces perhaps her toughest challenge yet as AEW Women’s World Champion as Riho returned to the company.

Riho was AEW’s first Women’s Champion and was last in action in the company back in June as part of a dark match that saw her team with Maki Itoh and Abadon to defeat Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir, and Nyla Rose. Prior to that, Riho’s last TV appearance in AEW was in April when she and Skye Blue lost a tag team bout against Saraya and Toni Storm.

A lot has changed during the Japanese star’s time away as Storm has split from her Outcasts partner and has embraced the golden age of Hollywood to become Timeless. Toni Storm became a three-time AEW Women’s Champion at Full Gear when she defeated Hikaru Shida for the gold.

Toni Storm Faces Riho Challenge In AEW

On Dynamite in Montreal, Storm was introduced by Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz before she successfully defended her title against Skye Blue. After that match, Riho returned to confront Storm and indicated that she wanted the gold.

Toni Storm was set to attack Riho but instead, she was dropkicked from the ring and saved by her butler Luther. It remains to be seen when Riho and Storm will face off but the Worlds End pay-per-view takes place on the 30th of December.
