Beloved AEW Star Heartbreakingly Announces Retirement At Just 39
This AEW and Indie Wrestler is sadly retiring at age 39.
Madison Rayne (FKA Lexi Lane) has had a career spanning two decades.
She has wrestled for multiple indie and top-level promotions, most notably TNA and AEW. In TNA, she was a five-time TNA Women’s Knockout Champion and three-time Women’s Knockout Tag Team Champion, helping the Women’s Knockouts Division gain prominence.
Rayne had a stint in Ring of Honor (ROH) wrestling between 2017 and 2019. She returned to Impact Wrestling shortly after but eventually signed with AEW in 2022 as a coach and a wrestler. She would still work in Ring of Honor from time to time.
On January 1st, in an episode of ROH TV, Rayne teamed with Deonna Purrazzo in a loss to Billie Starkz & Diamante. This was her final wrestling match. Rayne said that teaming with Purrazzo was a perfect way to end her career.

Backstage, Rayne said that it was the end of an era. She quoted

Rayne had a notable appearance in WWE’s 2018 Mae Young Classic. Her wrestling journey began in 2005, when she made her debut under the name Lexi Lane.
