AEW Star Reacts To John Cena Namedrop On SmackDown
A top AEW name has reacted to a surprise namedrop by John Cena on the 3rd of November edition of SmackDown.
Former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Taz spent nine years with WWE, including seven behind the announce desk where he voiced many of the key early moments of Cena’s career.
‘The Human Suplex Machine’ has been a key part of the AEW commentary team since joining the company in 2019, so it came as somewhat of a surprise when John Cena mentioned him in a verbal attack on Solo Sikoa during the 3rd November edition of SmackDown.
Cena tore into Sikoa ahead of their huge bout at Crown Jewel, describing him as a ‘bargain basement Taz ripoff’ in a stunning promo.
It is unclear as to why John Cena mentioned his former colleague but the former WWE Hardcore Champion took to social media site X in a now-deleted response to his name being brought up, opting to post one of Cena’s famous catchphrases in a somewhat cryptic response:
“U can’t see me.”
Was John Cena Victorious At Crown Jewel?
Solo Sikoa stunned John Cena at Crown Jewel, pinning a defenceless Cena to earn the victory having hit no less than eleven Samoan Spikes.
The defeat continued a stunning streak for the 46-year-old, who has now gone over 2000 days without a win in a televised singles bout.
Cena’s last singles match victory on TV came against Triple H at Crown Jewel in April 2018. He has since been bested by the likes of Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, and Austin Theory in huge TV outings, now adding Solo SIkoa to that list after a losing effort in Riyadh on November 4th.
