Huge AEW Star May Already Have Verbal Deal With WWE
Chris Jericho burying AEW on his recent podcast is not something wrestling fans saw coming.
The 55-year-old veteran has not been on TV since the night after he lost the ROH World Championship to Bandido at Dynasty in April.
Amid fan speculation about his status in the company, it was reported that the creative team had nothing for him.
During his time away from AEW, Jericho has been seen attending conventions and posting vacation pictures on his social platforms.
One controversial incident also saw him like an Instagram post suggesting he might be okay with returning to WWE, sparking further discussions among fans.
Jericho recently hosted an episode of his Talk Is Jericho podcast, where he had The Dudley Boyz and The Hardys as his guests.
The two teams had wrestled against each other for the last time at TNA Bound for Glory, with D-Von Dudley calling the time on his in-ring career.
While speaking about the significance of the bout, the former AEW World Champion also praised the size of the crowd, saying, “TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world.”
AEW’s Chris Jericho May Have A Verbal Deal With WWE
Chris Jericho’s latest comments have only aggravated speculations that he might quit AEW once his contract runs out.
Former WCW stars Konnan and Disco Inferno discussed the segment during their recent Keepin’ It 100 OFFICIAL podcast, with Konnan claiming that Jericho may be in touch with the Stamford promotion.
While speaking about Jericho putting the TNA crowd over, he said:
Which is weird to be because he always has kept close to the vest, like he never lets you know which way he’s leaning. And unless he’s doing a work with Tony, where he ends up staying with Tony, then he’s basically already probably made some sort of verbal deal with WWE. [1:34 onwards]
