Chris Jericho Throws Shade At AEW As WWE Speculation Grows

Chris Jericho makes his entrance in AEW.

It’s looking increasingly likely that Chris Jericho won’t return to AEW.

Chris Jericho hasn’t been seen on AEW television since walking out on The Learning Tree on the April 7 episode of Dynamite. But more interestingly, there’s been growing speculation that he might never be back.

Jericho’s AEW contract expires in December, and for many fans, this leaves the way clear for a return to WWE at the 2026 Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. As noted in a recent report, WWE’s pitch to Jericho would include a match at WrestleMania and a Hall of Fame induction.

Not only that, Jericho is doing little to dampen the rumours. In fact, he’s openly stoking them.

Chris Jericho Takes Jab at AEW

On the latest episode of his Talk Is Jericho podcast, the AEW star sat down with The Hardys and The Dudley Boyz to look back at their recent clash at TNA Bound For Glory.

During the conversation, Jericho heavily praised the TNA event while throwing a shot at AEW in the process. It hasn’t escaped fans’ attention that the company Jericho is praising just so happens to have a very healthy working relationship with WWE.

“That crowd looked huge. It looked huge. It was like a WWE-level crowd. The place was packed. I was watching this, not saying anything out of school here, but comparing it to watching Dynamite when they were at the ECW Arena, which looked like a Tony Candela taping, sorry, it did.

TNA looked like the second biggest company in the world. That was amazing. The presentation was amazing. It looked like a WrestleMania, it really did.”

With speculation around his future running wild, it seems that no matter where he ends up, Chris Jericho will be returning to the ring. In a new photo shared on social media, Jericho appeared to be in terrific shape as he worked out in the gym.
