AEW Star Happy To Be Linked To WWE Return

Triple H WWE Tony Khan AEW

An AEW star is seemingly open to a WWE return.

At WrestleMania 33, Matt and Jeff Hardy made a surprise return to WWE to take part in a Tag Team Ladder Match. Skip forward to WrestleMania 40 and WWE is set to host another Tag Team Ladder Match, and Matt Hardy’s AEW contract has just expired.

This has naturally led to speculation that Hardy could appear at the spectacular once again.

Appearing on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Matt Hardy said he was happy that people think he could make a surprise appearance in Philadelphia.

It’s great that people think that. That makes me happy. It makes people excited. If you hear someone talk about a ladder match, are they gonna show up? That’s great. I don’t know. It’s pro wrestling and in pro wrestling, never say never.”

Reason For AEW Releases Revealed

On April 3rd, AEW released several talents including stars such as Stu Grayson and Anthony Henry. Tony Khan has previously been against releasing talents under contract, instead waiting for their deals to expire before parting ways.

It’s been reported that the AEW releases were the result of a reorganisation of how the company utilises its roster.
