AEW Star Found Out About Exit From Fellow Talent

A new report has laid bare the “less than ideal” situation surrounding Leva Bates leaving AEW where Bates found out about her departure from fellow talents who knew first.

Bates was part of the build-up to AEW featured on Being The Elite which saw her and Peter Avalon compete over the character of The Librarian. She also competed for the company but last appeared on Dynamite back in March 2020 and mainly featured on Dark and Elevation. However, she was also involved behind the scenes in the company, particularly with AEW Heels.

Fightful Select has now given more information on Bates’ departure and the “less than ideal” circumstances surrounding it. Bates herself was said to be surprised by the news that she was leaving with the company not having any conversations with her about renewing her deal.

Others in AEW found out the news when an email was sent out informing them of Bates’ departure and Leva Bates herself is said to have found out when those people then reached out to check in on her. Some in the company pushed for her to stay but there are said to be no plans to do that.

Leva Bates’ statement regarding her departure was also applauded by many as it was positive about the company and the circumstances surrounding her exit could have been better.

Prior to her time in AEW, Leva Bates is probably best known for her run in NXT where she was known simply as Blue Pants and was in the corner of The Vaudevillains when they won the NXT Tag Team Championship from Blake and Murphy at TakeOver Brooklyn in August 2015.
