AEW Quietly Cancels Weekly Show

Tony Khan loves a big announcement but it seems the latest move from AEW has been done under the radar with Elevation seemingly coming to an end.

Elevation was AEW Dark’s sister show and mainly saw up-and-coming wrestlers take on established company stars, all filmed latterly at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Elevation aired on the company’s YouTube channel and FITE TV and it was FITE that noted the series was coming to an end with a billing for the show that stated:

“The Special and final episode of Elevation – it’s Best of Elevation airing on FITE! The episode is throwing it back to some of the best matches that have graced our Monday nights over the years!”

Elevation began in March 2021 and was AEW’s third weekly show at the time before Rampage debuted later that same year. Reports have suggested that the company is set to introduce a new weekly show on Saturday nights that could very well have CM Punk as the cornerstone.

With the last edition of Elevation being a “best of” show, there were no new bouts but the last match to feature was an 8-man tag team match from November 2021 which saw The Varsity Blonds, Alex Reynolds & John Silver defeat Chaos Project and The Acclaimed.

In addition, the Tony Khan-owned Ring of Honor has begun filming TV under that banner so many of the talents used for Elevation could wind up competing for that brand.
