AEW Star Expected To Return To WWE

Triple H WWE Tony Khan AEW

Mike Santana was not shocked in the least when Cody Rhodes returned to WWE and he expects another current AEW star to follow suit.

Cody Rhodes shocked the world when he returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 just weeks after he announced his exit from AEW. The move rocked the wrestling world as Rhodes had been central to the formation of AEW and was one of the Executive Vice Presidents in the organisation alongside The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

While many in the wrestling world were astonished at the development, one member of the AEW roster at the time was not surprised in the slightest.

Will Anyone Else Jump From AEW Back To WWE?

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Mike Santana admitted it did not come as a surprise to him when Cody Rhodes returned to WWE and admits there is another ex-WWE star in AEW’s ranks that he still expects to make the jump back as well but refused to say who:

Santana: I knew it was coming. I’ll be real there was two people that I said off the bat were gonna go back to WWE. One of them already did.

Chris Van Vliet: And you’re saying there’s another one that may go back?

Santana: Aw, yeah. Yeah, I love having people guessing that’s my favourite thing to do.

Although Santana didn’t name the other person he still expects to return to WWE, the highest-profile names on the AEW roster at the start that had come from WWE other than Rhodes were Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, PAC, and Dustin Rhodes.

Santana was closely associated with Chris Jericho for much of their run in AEW as he was one of the founder members of the Inner Circle and then ended up feuding with Jericho when he started The Jericho Appreciation Society.
