AEW Star Compared To Eddie Guerrero

One AEW star has been told that they are held in the same regard as the late, great WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero.

Eddie Guerrero captured the hearts of WWE fans during his run in the company after making the shocking switch to the company alongside Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, and Chris Benoit from WCW in 2000.

Guerrero “lied, cheated, and stole” his way to the WWE Championship in 2004 when he defeated Brock Lesnar before successfully defending the gold at WrestleMania 20 against Kurt Angle.

Tragically Guerrero’s life was cut short when he was found dead at the age of just 38 in November 2005 but his legacy lives long in the wrestling business.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, former WWE commentator Hugo Savinovich discussed how he was unhappy with AEW’s presentation of Thunder Rosa before telling the star that she’s in “the category of an Eddie Guerrero”:

“I was not really happy with AEW with the storylines they were doing with [Rosa]. I thought that, that giving [Rosa] the world title was a step but then they have to build the image of Thunder Rosa.”

“You are in the category of an Eddie Guerrero. I can see talent and you have it, and I just hope that they don’t kill your passion.”

Thunder Rosa captured the AEW Women’s Title back in March 2022 before being forced to give up the title after she had to pull out of a defence of the belt at All Out in September of the same year. Rosa has not yet returned to the ring but has returned to the company as a Spanish language announcer.
