AEW Star Claims They’re Carrying The Company

A top AEW star isn’t short on confidence.

On the special 250th episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF overcame Will Ospreay after a demanding 59 minutes and 58 seconds. By beating Ospreay via a punch with the Dynamite Diamond Ring, MJF captured the International Title.

After missing almost six months of action, MJF only returned to the company in May, immediately declaring his intention to get back on top.

Coming off the back of his latest championship win, MJF assessed his place in the wrestling landscape, while laying out his claim to be the best in the world.

During the new interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, the new International Champion said AEW is boring without him.

“I’ve been carrying this company for five years on my back,

People need MJF. It’s that simple. This company needs MJF. Fortunately, they’ve got me. What’s this company without MJF? It’s boring. This is the most people have talked about my company in months. Thank me later. If you’re not going to give me my just due now, you’ll have to when it’s all said and done.

I’m the most interesting man in professional wrestling. I’ve been that way since I laced up a pair of boots. There are two types of people: the ones who admit I’m probably the greatest overall package in the history of this sport, and then there are people who want to pretend they know better. They won’t admit what’s right in front of them.

For years, people said John Cena was not the GOAT. They said Randy Orton was boring. Those people actually exist in the world. Those are the type of the people who see mediocrity when they look in the mirror, and you can quote me on that.”

MJF Set For Huge Non-AEW Match

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that MJF will make his CMLL debut on August 2nd at an event at the famous Arena Mexico.

CMLL and AEW have had a working relationship in recent months which saw several talents head from Mexico to New York for Forbidden Door.

Chris Jericho will be heading to CMLL for the promotion’s 91st Anniversary show on the 13th of September where he will do battle with Mistico.
