AEW Star Thinks Brock Lesnar Was Right Man To End The Streak

The Undertaker Paul Heyman raises Brock Lesnar's hand over

AEW star Matt Hardy watched on like everyone else at WrestleMania 30 when Brock Lesnar shockingly defeated The Undertaker, but unlike some, Hardy thinks the end of The Streak was the right call.

WrestleMania 30 in 2014 played host to two of the most memorable moments in WWE history. The night ended in celebration when Daniel Bryan overcame Batista and Randy Orton to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion but earlier in the night, the crowd was left in a state of shock.

The Undertaker had not lost in 21 appearances at WrestleMania and his matches had arguably become the biggest draw at the showpiece event. However, three F-5s were enough for Brock Lesnar to keep the Phenom down long enough to become The Streak’s conqueror and the 1 in 21-1.

Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy gave his thoughts on the landmark moment and thinks WWE made the right call with who they had ending The Streak:

“I think Brock is the guy that should have beat him. On top of Brock being such a legitimate badass (by) beating him, they got so much greatness out of Brock over the next ten years or so. So yeah, I think it was a good call.”

Matt Hardy also recalled how he felt the first time he ever met The Undertaker backstage and said the icon looked like “such a gangster.”
