AEW Star Breaks Silence On Shock Suspension
AEW star Sammy Guevara is currently serving a suspension from the company and now, for the first time, he has addressed the situation.
At the February 14th taping for AEW Rampage, Jeff Hardy suffered a broken nose during a No Disqualification with Sammy Guevara. There were also fears that Hardy had suffered a concussion after being hit by Guevara’s knee while taking a Shooting Star Press.
With Hardy out of action, it was reported by Fightful Select that Guevara had been suspended. The report noted that after Hardy was injured, concussion protocol wasn’t followed, and this resulted in Guevara hitting his GTH finish on the veteran. Fightful were told, “This shouldn’t have happened.”
Sammy Guevara Addresses AEW Suspension
Now Guevara has addressed the situation without referencing the suspension directly on his YouTube vlog where at the end of his most recent video, he added a text-only message that read:
Thanks for watching. And to the people who support me whether it be from the beginning or in the middle or maybe this is your first video you’ve watched of mine, I just wanted to say thank you.
I understand that I am a person who has made mistakes but I am also a person who has tried to be better. “Roll with the punches” is a saying that I truly understand now at 30 years old. Life will throw a lot at you.
But it is how you deal with those adversities that make you who you are. I know who I am and I know what I’m going after.
See you at the top.
There remains no word on when Sammy Guevara will return to the ring.
A recent report gave some insight into the status of another AEW star currently competing in NJPW as it seems Tony Khan is still angry at Jack Perry over the firing of CM Punk.
