AEW Star Bothered By Undermining NXT Jokes
One AEW star has admitted that NXT is on fire right now and thinks jokes about the brand undermine just how good the talent there is.
On the October 8th episode of Dynamite, Daniel Garcia announced that he’s staying with AEW. The news came after several months of speculation regarding his status which only intensified when Garcia disappeared from television after All Out, and just weeks before his old deal was set to expire.
During this period it was reported that AEW was losing confidence in keeping Garcia in the company. While it had also become something of an open secret that WWE has an interest in Daniel Garcia.
Fans made the most of the speculation online with plenty of memes suggesting Garcia should join WWE and head to NXT because of the amount of attractive women on the show. While Garcia appreciates the joke, he thinks it undermines what Shawn Michaels is cooking on his show.
AEW’s Daniel Garcia Thinks Jokes Undermine NXT Success
Speaking on the South Kongress Podcast, Daniel Garcia gave his candid thoughts on the jokes and admits NXT is on fire right now:
I get why people think it was funny and it kept blowing up and people kept sending me things. To me, it completely undermines how great NXT is. I feel like NXT right now is hot, it’s on fire, they have such great talent, men and women, international talent from all over the world. People of all different experience levels.
When people kept saying I’m just going to sign there because there are a bunch of attractive women, I think it undermines the work rate, the talent of the entire roster. They have a great roster on their hands. They’re doing a bunch of great things over there. It undermines and takes away from what they’re doing over there.
Since re-resigning with AEW, Daniel Garcia has set his sights on TNT Champion Jack Perry and is leading the locker room’s fightback against the ultra-violent Blackpool Combat Club.
