AEW & ROH Stars Set For Leave Of Absence

Two contracted AEW stars are set to miss TV for a very positive reason.

As reported by Fightful Select, AEW star Julia Hart and Ring of Honor star Lee Johnson will be taking time away from the ring as they are set to get married and go on their honeymoon. According to a previous post on Instagram, the couple are set to tie the knot on October 13th.

Hart has been featured prominently in recent weeks of Dynamite and Collision. The House of Black member had been on a winning streak that led to a title match against TBS Champion Kris Statlander at WrestleDream. Hart was unsuccessful in capturing her first championship in All Elite Wrestling at the pay-per-view.

As mentioned in the report, it is unknown whether the absence will be covered by vignettes. It is also possible that an injury angle could write Hart off of TV for a few weeks.

Lee Johnson has featured in multiple high-profile matches on Ring of Honor television in recent weeks. On the September 2nd taping of ROH, Johnson unsuccessfully challenged then-World Champion Claudio Castagnoli for the title.

Hart’s improvement has been noticed by those behind the scenes as well as wrestling fans. Appearing at the post-show media scrum following WrestleDream, Kenny Omega complimented Hart’s increase in confidence, describing her in-ring work as “incredible” and character work as “impeccable.”
