AEW “Number 1 Priority” For Major Free Agent

AEW

Kota Ibushi seems to have his sights set on a future with AEW.

After suffering an injury during a match with ‘The Rainmaker’ Kazuchika Okada, Kota Ibushi’s contract with NJPW expired and he was a free agent upon his return to action. That took place over WrestleMania weekend this year when he competed against ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey as part of GCW Bloodsport before having a match with Joey Janela at Janela’s own event.

Dark Puroresu Flowsion has now reported that while Kota Ibushi has an offer to return to New Japan Pro Wrestling on the table, the star is looking towards a possible future with AEW:

“As I stated yesterday NJPW has a offer in for Kota Ibushi. He told me AEW is his #1 priority still.”

Interestingly it was also noted that another “#1 priority” for Ibushi was the Golden Lovers – his tag team with former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega.

Omega suffered a heartbreaking loss to Jon Moxley in a steel cage match on Dynamite when his long-time associate Don Callis viciously turned on him. With Omega unsure if he can trust his friends or his family, it could be a case that AEW is for lovers for Ibushi and Omega.
