AEW Announces Kenny Omega “Dream Match” For March 22nd Dynamite
The former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega will be part of a Dream Match on the March 22nd edition of AEW Dynamite.
During his AEW career, Kenny Omega has a lot of memorable moments. He is a former AEW World Champion, a former Tag Team Champion and a two-time Trios Tag Team Champion. Omega has also had a lot of memorable matches with some of AEW’s biggest stars like Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, “Hangman” Adam Page and many more. The Best of Seven Series with The Elite (Omega and The Young Bucks) against Death Triangle were great matches as well.
There are many people that have considered Omega to be one of the best wrestlers in the world for the last several years as well. If you put him in a big match, you know it’s probably going to be good because of how talented Omega is.
On Friday, AEW’s CEO, GM and Head of Creative Tony Khan announced on Twitter that Kenny Omega will be part of a dream match next Wednesday, March 22nd on Dynamite when he faces El Hijo Del Vikingo.

The match was originally going to happen in 2021, but Omega was injured at the time and missed about ten months of action before returning to the ring in September 2022.
Omega was the AAA Mega Champion since October 2019 and held the title for over two years (a total of 765 days with only five defenses) before vacating the title.
El Hijo del Vikingo has held the AAA Mega Championship for over 460 days going back to December 2021. Vikingo is the man that won the title after Omega vacated it. Vikingo is considered by many people to be one of the best wrestlers in the world.
In December 2022, Vikingo told Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture that he will go look for Omega since Vikingo has his US work visa.
“The third time’s the charm. It’s now been two occasions that Kenny Omega and I were gonna wrestle, but for this and that, it wasn’t able to happen, but now I have the Visa. So if he doesn’t come (to Mexico), then I will go look for him. Expect some big surprises.”
“Why not have ‘El Gran Jinete’ go and look for him in his own house? Anything can happen. My home, AAA, is always giving surprises. I don’t know, maybe in the future, I will go to his house, or him in ours, or somewhere in the middle. Anything can happen.”
Kenny Omega has mostly been wrestling in Trios Tag Team matches with The Elite (his team name with The Young Bucks) of late. The Elite lost a triple threat Trios Tag Team Title match against the champions House of Black and Jericho Appreciation on the March 15th Dynamite. It was the first episode of Dynamite in Kenny’s hometown of Winnipeg.
