AEW Issue Statement On Passing Of Bray Wyatt
All Elite Wrestling has issued a statement regarding the tragic news of Bray Wyatt’s passing.
The wrestling world has come together to provide condolences, memories and stories of Wyatt, who sadly passed away on August 24th aged just 36 years old.
The statement posted to social media reads as follows:
“AEW joins the entire wrestling world in mourning the loss of Windham Rotunda, aka Bray Wyatt. A third-generation wrestler, Windham proudly carried on his family’s legacy by forging his own incredible path to superstardom.
“Windham’s unique style and persona showcased his passion for the industry and desire for innovation.
“AEW sends its deepest condolences to Windham’s family, friends and fans. We are forever grateful for all his incredible contributions to the industry.”
Wyatt now joins Brodie Lee [known as Luke Harper in WWE] as two wrestlers who passed on far too soon and left the wrestling industry in shock. Brodie Lee was just 41 when he passed in December 2020 and was signed with All Elite Wrestling at the time of his passing.

With WWE and IMPACT also posting a tribute to the recently passed World Champion, the biggest wrestling promotions have all acknowledged what an impact Wyatt had on the wrestling landscape, expanding far beyond the WWE Universe. Former Wyatt Family member Braun Strowman knew Wyatt better than almost anybody and has left a touching tribute to a man he considered family.
Social media has been inundated with candid photos, memories and tributes paid to Wyatt outlining the kindness of the man behind the many personas and applauding the creativity of Wyatt.
