AEW Invasion Storyline Involving The Don Callis Family Pitched By Former WWE Star

The Don Callis Family is one of the most enviable factions in AEW.

Formed in mid-2023, the ever-growing group currently has 15 members, with Andrade returning to the company recently after months of disappearance.

Headed by veteran manager Don Callis, the faction has seen talent join and leave the ‘family,’ the likes of Will Ospreay, Sammy Guevara, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Rush serving as former members.

During an interview with All F’N Wrestling Show last year, Brian Cage discussed the faction’s exponential growth, admitting that their leader never initially planned on having so many members join the group.

With that being said, a former WWE talent, Bishop Dyer (fka Baron Corbin), pitched a bold creative storyline for AEW to explore.

WWE-like AEW Invasion Storyline Pitched

In March 2001, WWE purchased its long-standing rival company, WCW. While Vince McMahon gloated about his new acquisition, his son, Shane, made the shocking revelation that it was he who was the new owner of WCW.

Subsequently, an invasion storyline was conceptualized, which ran between April and November of that year.

As both Vince (WWE) and Shane (WCW) assembled teams over the next couple of months, Stephanie McMahon revealed herself as the new ECW owner, thus joining the fray and aligning with WCW.

Speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, Bishop Dyer discussed AEW’s Don Callis Family, while pitching the idea of an invasion storyline.

Keep growing the Don Callis Family. Give me five more members. Here’s why. Let’s start a massive biker gang, like let’s get 20 dudes in this group; we have prospects, we have all this stuff, and then we have this massive turf war.

He further said that the heel stable could pose as a threat to other talents, bringing together unique alliances among the babyfaces, setting up a large-scale confrontation.

I wanna see a four-hour pay-per-view where it’s all of the members of Don Callis Family versus all of these people that Kenny Omega or Hangman Adam Page has recruited, Swerve Strickland, and I wanna see a 20 on 20 stand off.

I wanna see five matches here with these guys, I wanna see a massive tag match with these guys. I would love a full-on invasion, WWF vs. WCW invasion-type angle with the Don Callis Family and everybody else.
