AEW In Contract Talks With Ex-WWE Tag Team

Two former WWE stars are still on AEW’s radar after they made their debut for the company and then disappeared again.

Back in October 2023, the Grizzled Young Vets team of James Drake and Zack Gibson finally left WWE after their contracts with the company expired. Since then the team have made waves on the independent scene again but they did have a brief appearance in All Elite Wrestling.

Gibson and Drake teamed on the 27th of April edition of Collision to take on The Acclaimed but the former AEW Tag Team Champions picked up the win. GYV haven’t appeared in Tony Khan’s company since but it seems that could still change.

AEW Still Interested In GYV

Fightful Select has reported that the Grizzled Young Vets might not have been signed during their AEW debut but that could be changing. The pair have not appeared on AEW television since but there have been ongoing contract talks between both parties ever since.

The report notes that it is not a slam dunk that GYV ends up in All Elite Wrestling but the company still has an interest in bringing them in. The Grizzled Young Vets had also been working for TNA following their WWE exit but finished up – for now at least – with them in March.
