AEW Executive Set For Shock Exit

Tony Khan is set to lose one of AEW’s top executives in a surprise move that could signal major changes in the company moving forward.

QT Marshall surprised many when he announced his AEW departure, commenting that the company was heading in a very different direction from where it started. As well as appearing on-screen, Marshall was a key figure behind the scenes and many stars in the company were quick to pay tribute to him.

Now Fightful Select has reported that there are more changes happening behind the scenes in AEW. Rafael Morffi, who has served as AEW’s Vice President of Live Events/Touring will be finishing up with the company at the end of 2023.

Morffi has worked with both WWE and TNA in the past and served as TNA’s Senior Director of Live Events. Morffi has a long-standing relationship with AEW announcer Jim Ross as well.

As well as Marshall and Morffi’s departure, AEW made a surprising change on the TV production side of its operation as well.

Kevin Sullivan, the Vice President of Post Production was let go by AEW in early December 2023 having been with the company since its inception. That decision was said to have been made by Mike Mansury who left WWE to join AEW in December 2022.
