AEW Dynamite Sees New Champion Crowned
On AEW Dynamite, a huge show saw the Face of the Revolution ladder match winner Powerhouse Hobbs taking on TNT Champion Wardlow, but a shock twist saw a new champion crowned.
Hobbs captured the Face of the Revolution ladder match brass ring on the Dynamite before Revolution guaranteeing himself a TNT Title shot. At Revolution, Samoa Joe put that title on the line against his former partner Wardlow with Mr. Mayhem picking up the win and with it his second reign with that title.
On Dynamite in Sacramento, Powerhouse Hobbs cashed in his title shot against an angry Wardlow who had his TNT Title belt, along with a host of other possessions, stolen when his car was broken into. By the end of the night, Wardlow had been robbed again.
In a shock twist, QT Marshall returned to AEW television and slammed a chair into the back of Wardlow before Hobbs threw the champion off the stage leading to a ten count on a KO’d Wardlow with the referee declaring that he couldn’t continue and Hobbs being crowned as the new champion.
QT Marshall was wearing a polo shirt bearing the “QTV” logo that has come to light in recent weeks and he recently lamented that his previous group, The Factory, was no more.
