AEW Dynamite Sees Major Title Change
In the last few weeks, it’s been a case of better the devil you know for AEW World Champion MJF but on Dynamite, that fell apart very quickly.
Samoa Joe stepped in at Full Gear to partner with MJF to defend the ROH Tag Team Championship as Adam Cole continues to be out of action due to injury. Joe’s price to help MJF defend his cherished gold was a shot at the AEW World Championship, something MJF reluctantly followed through on with insistence from his best friend Cole.
Joe joined MJF again as The Salt of the Earth agreed to a ROH Tag Team Title match against The Devil’s Masked Men but that match never took place due to an attack by The Devil’s goons. However, a later challenge was accepted by Samoa Joe and that match took place in the main event of AEW Dynamite in Orlando.
Samoa Joe Shows MJF His True Colours On AEW Dynamite
Joe was seen clutching his knee backstage after an apparent attack on him leaving MJF to go it alone and defend his title by himself. Ultimately a third masked man nailed MJF with a pipe which helped The Devil’s Masked Men to pick up the win and the ROH Tag Team Championship.
Samoa Joe then limped out with a chair to chase off the attackers before The Devil appeared on the screen with a message that read “Pleasure doing business with you.” The “you” in question turned out to be Joe himself as he slammed the chair into MJF’s attack showing no signs of having been injured in an attack in the first place.
We just found out how far Samoa Joe will go for the #AEW World Championship.
