Attendance For AEW Double Or Nothing “Well Short” Of Last Year

Attendance was down for AEW’s Double or Nothing event this year, especially compared to what they did in 2022.

There were less fans in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada for Double or Nothing this year compared to last year. Considering the event was held in the same venue in the same city during the same weekend, it’s fair to compare the two numbers.

While the 2022 edition of Double or Nothing was considered a sellout with 14,459 fans in attendance with 13,800 paid, this year’s show was down in terms of fans in the arena. At least it was better than the crowd at AEW Revolution back in March.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there were nearly 5,000 fewer fans that paid to be at this year’s Double or Nothing.

“The show drew 10,550 fans with 9,000 paid and a gate of about $900,000, so was above the 8,000 paying $800,000 that Revolution did in San Francisco. The upper deck section on the hard camera side was tarped up but it was pretty packed in the sections that were open.”

“It was well short of what AEW did in its previous two Double or Nothing shows, which both sold out instantly.”

This year’s Double or Nothing event saw the Blackpool Combat Club beat The Elite in the Anarchy in the Arena match main event. Meanwhile, MJF successfully defended the AEW World Title over Jack Perry, Darby Allin & Sammy Guevara. The 2022 edition of Double or Nothing saw CM Punk beat “Hangman” Adam Page to become the AEW World Champion for the first time.

Meanwhile, part-time WWE performer Pat McAfee took a shot at the crowd at Double or Nothing when photos were shown of an empty part of the arena near the hard cameras.

The good news for AEW as far as attendance goes is that Toronto looks to be a sellout for Forbidden Door on June 25th with the Wrestling Observer noting that the 12,862 paid attendance looks to be a sellout.

Plus, they have All In at Wembley Stadium in London, England with over 65,000 tickets sold already for a show taking place on Sunday, August 27th.
