AEW Doctor Clears Saraya For In-Ring Return

Saraya getting physical on AEW Dynamite seemingly wasn’t a one-off, as she’s medically allowed to wrestle for the first time since 2017!

Saraya has been medically cleared to wrestle.

This comes via Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, who reported that Dr. Michael Sampson had cleared her for a return to in-ring action. It was previously noted that Sampson was essentially the only one with a say in whether the former Paige could compete in AEW.

Meltzer added that you couldn’t tell how she fared in her brief Dynamite brawl with Britt Baker’s crew after almost five years of inactivity:

“Saraya was officially cleared by Dr. Michael Sampson. She looks to be feuding with Britt Baker. They got into it. It was short and you really couldn’t tell how Saraya looked after so many years not wrestling.”

It’s unknown when, exactly, Saraya will wrestle her first match back. She’s been feuding with Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Rebel since confronting the trio at Grand Slam Dynamite, with ‘The Anti-Diva’ and ‘The Doctor’ subsequently getting into it verbally on the following week’s Dynamite. The 5 October broadcast saw Saraya punch Baker and roundhouse kick Rebel.

The two-time WWE Divas Champion was a celebrated performer in WWE and NXT but a career-ending neck injury suffered in December 2017 led the then-Paige to officially confirm her in-ring retirement on the Raw following WrestleMania 34. She’s since served as SmackDown General Manager and as a manger for The Kabuki Warriors.
