AEW Championship Vacated By Management

AEW Tony Khan

Collision was taped after AEW Dynamite and the show has seen one title in the company vacated due to injury.

It has not been a good week for The Bang Bang Gang. Jay White lost out to Hangman Adam Page in the semi-final of the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament with White apparently injured in that match leading to him being unable to defend the Unified AEW Trios Championship.

The Bang Bang Gang looked to invoke the Freebird Rule on Collision and have Juice Robinson replace the injured White to team with Austin and Colten Gunn but management had other ideas.

AEW Title Stripped Due To Injury

Christopher Daniels appeared and stripped The Bang Bang Gang of the title rendering it vacant. Daniels declared that Robinson and The Gunns will have a chance to win the vacant title in a match against The Patriarchy’s Christian Cage, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne. No date was given for that match.

White and The Gunns had been the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions since January 2024 but unified that title with the AEW Trios Championship when they defeated The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass on the Zero Hour pre-show of AEW Dynasty in April.

Fans will be able to see this all play out on TV when Collision airs on Saturday, July 13th.

The 10th of July edition of AEW Dynamite saw the winners of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments crowned as the card for All In begins to take shape.
