Cash Wheeler of the AEW tag team known as FTR has been arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm.

It has been reported by the Orlando Sentinel that AEW’s Cash Wheeler, who is part of the Tag Team Champions known as FTR with Dax Harwood, was arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm.

“Daniel Wheeler, a tag-team champion in All Elite Wrestling, was arrested Friday morning by the Orlando Police Department and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm. He was booked in Circuit Court, according to county records.”

PWInsider has provided more info nothing that a warrant for Wheeler’s arrest was filed on July 28th. It was added that “Wheeler filed a plead of not guilty to the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm via his attorney with the circuit court of Orange County, Florida on August 3rd.” The charge is a third degree felony in the state of Florida.

This also means that the firearm incident involving Wheeler took place several weeks ago and is not something that just happened.

The FTR tag team of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood have worked for AEW since May 2020 following a lengthy run in WWE where they were known as The Revival. They re-signed new long term contracts earlier this year.

AEW has issued this statement about Wheeler’s arrest.

“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. (Wheeler) is fully cooperating with local authorities.”

During their incredible run as a tag team, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have held championships all over the world including three different sets of Tag Team Titles in WWE and they are two-time AEW Tag Team Champions. They are also former IWGP Tag Team Champions, AAA Tag Team Champions and ROH Tag Team Champions as well.

UPDATE: There is a video from the hearing of Cash Wheeler’s arraignment.

Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood Were Set For Huge Match At AEW All In

FTR Young Bucks AEW All In

There is obviously no good time for any sort of arrest, but in this case, the news of this arrest happened just nine days before the biggest AEW show ever – All In London at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 27th.

At All In, FTR were set to defend the AEW Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks. Each team has won one match against the other, so this would be a third and perhaps decisive match between them in front of 80,000+ fans. Since Wheeler just got arrested, it’s unknown if the match will be able to take place.

FTR has been regularly featured on AEW Collision since the show’s debut in mid-June. They are very close friends with CM Punk, who has a major say in what happens on Collision, as well as who gets to attend the show.
