AEW Breaks Unwanted Record

AEW

AEW faced breaking an unwanted record as the recent rating for the 17th of February 2023 edition of AEW Rampage sank to an all-time low.

Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reported that Rampage only achieved a total viewership of 287,000 on Friday night with the show moved to the 7 pm – 8 pm timeslot. The key demo of 18-49 rating for the show was 0.07 and Rampage placed number 59 on cable for the night.

It was noted that Rampage which aired in that timeslot before had attained figures of at least 400,000 viewers and the lowest key demo rating up until now had been 0.15. This makes the 17th of February edition of Rampage the least watched in the show’s history.

Friday’s show saw The Elite successfully defend their AEW Trios Championship against AR Fox and Top Flight while there was also success for TBS Champion Jade Cargill who saw off the challenge of Vertvixen.

The issues between Ricky Starks and The Jericho Appreciation Society continued as Starks defeated Daniel Garcia and in the main event, Dustin Rhodes defeated Swerve Strickland by disqualification with Keith Lee returning to television to run off his former partner and his Mogul Affiliates.

On the same night, WWE SmackDown achieved a total viewership of 2,383,000 and a key demo rating of 0.58, placing it in number one position for the night among broadcast primetime and cable originals.
