A date has been provided in terms of when AEW is likely going to announce the premiere of their next weekly television show.

There is more All Elite Wrestling content coming soon. It has already been established that the AEW Saturday night show is going to be called Collision with a debut episode airing on Saturday, June 17th from Chicago.

While nothing is official yet, the apparent plan is for Collision to air on Saturday nights from 8-10 p.m. on TNT although there also might be pre-emptions due to TNT airing sports content during some parts of the year.

In an update on AEW’s plans for Collision that we posted earlier today, it was reported that Warner Bros. Discovery (the company that owns TBS & TNT) pushed for the company to bring back CM Punk since he is viewed as a television draw.

Since there are members of the roster that likely don’t want anything to do with Punk, including the Young Bucks, AEW plans to have a roster split of some kind with some wrestlers only appearing on Dynamite while others, like Punk, will only appear on Collision. What that means for Friday’s AEW Rampage show is unknown at this point.

As for when AEW plans to announce Collision, Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast reports that it is likely coming on May 17th at the Warner Bros. Discovery upfronts, which is when TV networks announce plans for future content.

“The announcement is most likely happening at the upfronts. So, I believe that’s May 17th. So a month out from the actual show. Which I’ve heard — different sources have said the same thing. I believe that’s happening. I don’t know if Tony [Khan] is announing it upfront or if Turner is announcing it upfront, but they are announcing it at upfronts.”

That May 17th date is a Wednesday, which is when Dynamite airs, so if AEW promotes a “huge announcement” soon then the Collision debut is likely what it will be.
