Advertised WWE Match Pulled From Show

WWE Logo over Roster

One previously advertised match in WWE did not make it to TV.

Card subject to change was in effect on Tuesday night’s edition of NXT as one bout that had been advertised for the show did not make it in the ring.

Gigi Dolin had been due to take on Blair Davenport on the show but Davenport had other plans. Dolin was seen stretching for the bout backstage before the lights suddenly went out. Sounds of a fight were then heard and when the lights came back on Davenport was standing over her rival.

Blair Davenport appeared by the commentary desk later in the show to gloat about her actions once it had been confirmed that her planned match with Dolin had now been scrapped.

Why did WWE abandon the match?

Although the reason on television for the match being nixed was down to the attack on Dolin leaving her unable to compete, the reality could be a bit different. There have been suggestions that WWE needed to find time on the show for a four-way match to determine Dominik Mysterio’s challenger for the North American Title at Payback.

That match was not needed as of the previous week’s edition of NXT as Mustafa Ali – Mysterio’s original challenger – had not yet been released by WWE.
