Adam Page Thwarts MJF’s Dirty Tricks To Retain Title At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door
Adam Page overcame MJF’s dirty tricks to retain his World Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
The match had an added stipulation that if Page lost by disqualification or countout, he would lose the title.
Despite that, both men tested the waters by bringing tables and chairs into play.
At one point in the match, Page hit Deadeye on MJF through a table; the challenger retaliated by hitting Tombstone Piledriver on the same table.
MJF tried his best to keep Page outside the ring, hoping to win the match by a countout. He even shouted abuses at Bryan Danielson, egging him on to interfere in the match, causing a DQ for Page.
Maxwell engaged with the fans, too, resulting in them chanting “You Deserve It” after he got brutally busted open.

In the closing minutes, both men brought the action back into the ring, knocking each other out with an elbow shot.
The match even produced a funny segment, wherein both men went for consecutive reversal pins, leaving the referee out of breath.
The match seemed to have ended after the referee counted 1-2-3, but Page’s foot was on the bottom rope. The referee failed to realize it, as he had been knocked out previously.
Meanwhile, MJF tried all the dirty tricks in the book, but to no avail.
Adam Page himself retaliated by hitting Maxwell with the latter’s unsigned contract, before nailing him with another Deadeye, followed by the Buckshot Lariat for the pinfall.
