Adam Page Sends Warning To MJF As AEW World Title Battle Nears
“Hangman” Adam Page is more than ready for MJF.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, “Hangman” Adam Page will make his second defence of his AEW World Championship. Page won the title back in July at All In from Jon Moxley, and later defended it against the leader of the Death Riders on Dynamite.
Elsewhere at All In, MJF won the Casino Gauntlet Match to earn a future shot at the World Championship. However, he won’t be using that contract when he faces Page at MJF.
In the lead-up to Forbidden Door, MJF forced Page to agree that the title can change on a disqualification, and the match won’t count as him cashing in his contract.
“Hangman” Adam Page Makes MJF Vow
During an interview with Jeff Jarrett ahead of Forbidden Door, Page was asked about MJF potentially out-smarting him to get his shot at the World Title.
“It’s the card that he has played since day one. It’s his only card. It’s not the low-hanging fruit. It’s the fruit that has fallen from the tree, hit the ground, and begun to rot. That is what he reaches for. And he thinks that he’s going to goad me into getting disqualified, and he’s going to win the championship that way. It’s not going to happen.
Granted, he did manage to get this title shot without using his contract.”
Page added that MJF has always needed some kind of insurance policy, as he’s never been brave enough to go all in.
“What Max has to him is an insurance policy. He’s the kind of person who needs it. He’s the kind of person who cannot go all in. He’s the kind of person who cannot put all of their chips on the table when it truly matters. He needs insurance. It’s what he has always needed, and it’s what he has now. But after what I do to him at Forbidden Door, he will think twice about using that contract.”
Elsewhere at Forbidden Door, “Timeless” Toni Storm will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Athena. The challenger earned her shot by winning the women’s Casino Gauntlet Match at All In.
